MacArthur Middle hosted second-grade students from Manor View Elementary and fourth-grade students from Pershing Hill Elementary for a celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Day. A slew of guest readers, including MacArthur students, administrators, and Central Office staff, read aloud Dr. Seuss classics such as Wacky Wednesday and The Cat in the Hat.
Students participated in discussions about their favorite Seuss books, engaged in Seuss-related activities, and even enjoyed some Seuss-themed snacks. The event, organized by MacArthur literacy coach Saira Haas and librarians Kandy Sanzone and George Miller, provided an opportunity for the feeder elementary students to have a positive experience at their future middle school while celebrating the joy of reading.
